Samantha Raye Caflisch 2005-2020
Samantha Raye Caflisch, age 15, of Parker, CO, went home to Jesus on July 27, 2020, following an accident.
A celebration of life has taken place in Colorado. The family requests memorial donations made to Lion's Club Kiddie Land and sent to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS 67301.
Sammie was born to Shannon Caflisch and Christy (Rhodes) Schultz on July 26, 2005 in San Antonio, TX. Sammie attended Southeast Christian School from preschool through 5th grade. She then went to Sagewood Middle School and was currently attending Ponderosa High School. Sammie had a huge heart and wanted to help others when she grew up. She had been debating between being a counselor for teens dealing with depression or who have been victims of sexual assault or working as an SVU detective putting bad guys away.
Sammie loved Jesus. Both of her home churches, Southeast Christian Church and Crossroads Community Church, helped her grow in her faith. She loved pretty much all sports as a kid (soccer, basketball, volleyball, futsal, cross country, etc) but her passion landed on cheer, specifically competitive cheer. She enjoyed her teammates from her different Suns teams and her Ponderosa High School cheer team. She took her role very seriously, trying to never let a girl hit the ground, but also often got extra conditioning for the girls due to making them laugh. This past year Sammie also found a love for skiing and paddleboarding. More than sports, Sammie loved her friends. When you were Sammie's friend she loved hard and would do anything for you. She didn't care what others thought of her if it meant saving a friend. She was stubborn, beautiful, hillarrious, frustrating, loving, sweet, challenging, sassy and a smart alec. She loved making others smile and feel safe. Her friends were so important to her, she always wanted to be with them or have them with our family. She will be so missed by all who knew her.
Sammie is survived by her parents, father Shannon Caflisch of Parker, mother Christy (Rhodes) Schultz and bonus dad Rick Schultz of Parker; one sister, Lizzie Caflisch; two brothers, Trenton Schultz and Cohlton Schultz; Amazing Grandparents Leonhard and Charlotte Caflisch of Independence, KS, Terri McDonald and Kent Whitehouse of Parker, CO, Dan and Susan Rhodes of Branson, MO, Dave and Nancy Harr of Cedar Hills, UT and Patty Schafer of Kremling, CO; Great Grandmother Maxine Rhodes; Loving Aunts and Uncles Sarah and John Leary, Ashley and Devon Jarrett, Shelly and Jason Gibson, Marc and Carly Rhodes, Paul and Stacy Rhodes, Eric and Grace Rhodes, Tammy Schultz and Will Middleton, Joe Schultz, Shane and Brenda Harr, Jason and Cookie Harr; Fabulous Cousins Eric Gibson, Jamie Gibson, Baileigh Reister, Bella Arriola, Donovan Harr, AJ Arriola, Payton Jarrett, Emmi Reister, Chase Harr, Logan Jarrett, Julia Arriola, Lilly Jarrett, Maddy Reister, Olivia Harr, Hannah Jarrett, Brody Harr, Bryce Harr, Mya Harr, Griffin Harr, Erica Rhodes, Amy Jarrett, Brody Caflisch, Jayce Rhodes, and Elon Rhodes; Great Aunts and Uncles Bill Caflisch, Bob and Brenda Rhodes, Mike and Becky Qualls, Everett Long, John and Marcillia Long, Joy and Ken Edmonds, Carol and Norman Rash, Henry Schafer, and Tom Schafer. This list could go on and on as she has such a large family whose life she touched. She also leaves behind the best friends a girl could ask for.

She graduated valedictorian from Independence High School before attending the University of Kansas, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Home Economics and was also a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She returned to Independence to marry her high school sweetheart, William Webb, to whom she was happily married for 66 and ½ years until William’s death in September 2017. They moved from Independence to Topeka, Kansas before permanently relocating to Denver, Colorado in 1960, living in the same residence in Lakewood from 1963.
Patricia was a homemaker in Lakewood and enjoyed being involved in many activities including politics from the 1960s to the 1990s, serving as a precinct captain, Jefferson County Republican Committee Woman and election judge with a passion for conservative values. She was also a long time member of PEO, an organization dedicated to furthering educational causes. Patricia was most passionate about living her Christian faith daily, involving herself with several churches and Christian organizations and serving as a Sunday School teacher, elder at Bear Creek Presbyterian Church, leader in Bible Study Fellowship and source of spiritual strength to all. She was also an avid football fan, rooting in particular for the hometown Denver Broncos with the fervor and dedication of a true ‘Broncomaniac’. Far more significant than what Patricia did was who she was; a blessing to everyone. Those who knew her would point to her sweet, caring and kind character, always thinking of others and always there to lend an ear or a hand in both good times and bad, gladly spending endless hours on the phone or in person comforting others. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, relative, friend and confidant that touched so many lives in the most positive way possible, loving as Jesus would. Her values and morals were exemplary, consistent and always put into practice. Most importantly, she was a tremendous woman of faith, a mighty Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ very much, serving Him first and foremost in thoughts, words and actions everyday. She was fond of saying, “I’ll see Him soon”.
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Laura) and Dan, grandchildren Megan Koepsell (Drew) , Amy Borger (Ryan) and Todd (Maddie), great-grandchildren Riley, Josie and Lucy Borger, and Will Koepsell. - My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Patsy's mother, Sharlin, was my step-aunt, married to my uncle, Robert Sayers, although I knew her only as my aunt-no "step". Sharlin was my idol. I thought she was amazing and I loved and admired her very much. Obviously, Patsy favored her and was a blessing to many, like her sweet mother. I know Heaven has a new angel and Aunt Sharlin is thrilled to reunite with Patsy.- Carolyn Torrance

- She laughed and taught me "you're going in the right direction, just fix the wording." I'm using past tense because the kindest soul on this planet has left us. Steve Irwin and Bob Ross had NOTHING on Amanda Lewis' kind heart. She was a daughter, niece, cousin, friend, humanitarian, bully-stopper, animal lover and most importantly to me, a SISTER! She would give you the clothes off her back. We thank you for all the love. She'd be proud she made you all more kind. Amanda was too amazing for us and she happily gave everything to everyone. We can all strive to be more like her. I'll nerver get to see, hear or laugh with her again. Being the man she taught me to be is the present she left you all. I'm gonna be the guy she laughed, beat up and made fun of for love of a 'bro" just so I can make her proud and you all into more kind and respectful souls like her. I am glad you let me be your brother. You were my rock, now I got this for you. Your loving brother, Marcus

On June 25th, 1958, at the age of 16, a beautiful Linda married the love of her life, Charles James (Jim) Matthews in Greenville, MS. They were married for an amazing 61 years. During their early years together, they lived in several locations while Jim served in the U.S. Navy, including Norfolk, VA, Charleston, SC, and White Sands, NM. During this time of her life, Linda spent many happy years as a homemaker while raising their two young children, Dennis and Angela.
Linda had many titles throughout her life: daughter, sister, wife, and mother, but the title that she was most proud of was “Maw.” Linda loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the center of her life and brought her much joy and happiness. Linda and Jim’s house became “home base” for several of their grandchildren. They welcomed each one and played an important role in each of their lives. Currently, their great granddaughter, Aubree, resides in their home. Linda made herself available to all of her grandchildren and was very proud of each of them. As you can imagine, Linda’s hobbies were centered around the grandkids. She enjoyed attending their school activities and sporting events. She especially enjoyed watching the girls’ track meets and tennis matches.
Linda was known for her kindness and her affectionate hugs. Each and every time you would see her; the conversation began and ended with her warm and comforting embrace. All of our lives are richer because Linda was a part of them.
Linda was preceded in death by: Her parents Ethel McDiarmid Beach, John McDiarmid and stepfather, Jack Beach. Brothers; Johnny McDiarmid, Tom McDiarmid, and Jim McDiarmid. Mother and father in-laws; Charles and Inez Matthews. Sisters-in-laws; Pat McDiarmid and Debbie Matthews.
